Wyandotte Camera club

Devoted to the art of Black and White Photography

Since its existence in 1938, the Wyandotte Camera Club (WCC) has had two distinctive qualities: 1) being the oldest active camera club in the Kansas City Metro area and 2) focusing only on black and white photography. Over the past several decades, the club has maintained the exclusivity of its origin and devoted itself to the perfection and enjoyment of black and white photography. The members of WCC consists of photographers of all skill levels who wish to increase their skills and knowledge of photography. Our mission is to educate and promote black & white fine art photography, through:

  1. 1.The unselfish sharing of ideas, techniques, and constructive                                        criticism of photographic prints;

  1. 2.Promoting interest, knowledge, and skill in the principles and

    practices of photography;

  1. 3.Presenting educational forums and programs by professionals or respected amateurs and by conducting periodic juried assigned and open print submissions.

  1. 4.Participating in photographic exhibitions and civic activities which promote photography.

The Wyandotte Camera Club is also a member of the North Central Camera Club Council (N4C), which is comprised of photography clubs from a ten state area.  N4C also has a variety of monthly competitions. First, Second, and Third place monthly winners qualify for exhibition and awards at the N4C annual convention.

Membership dues for the Wyandotte Camera Club are $25 per year. This includes the club’s monthly newsletter, The Focal Spot, and the privilege of competing in the various contests.  In addition, a yearly exhibition is scheduled to showcase each member’s work.

Attend one of our meetings, watch, learn, and participate in a highly selective art form.
